Public HIV/AIDS Data and Information Resources

    Monthly reports of AIDS statistics and HIV statistics available from 2003.

• California Sexually Transmitted Disease Statistical Information
  California STD surveillance data, STD California annual reports and other publications.
  
• Centers for Disease Control and Prevention HIV Surveillance Information
  Semi-annual national HIV/AIDS surveillance reports contain state, metropolitan statistical area, mode of exposure to HIV, sex, race/ethnicity, age group and other vital statistics.
  
• California 2000 Census Data with Special Information about Poverty and People of Color
  Compilation of detailed social, economic and government statistics for California presented as enumeration and aggregate data for various annual time periods.
  
• California HIV Planning Group
  Documents about governance, California Department of Public Health, Office of AIDS reports for providers and legislative updates.

California providers can access information from the following private sources or request specific information from the State Office of AIDS:

• Evaluating Local Interventions (ELI) (requires account)
  Web-based information system that enables California's prevention providers to systematically collect and access intervention, demographic, and behavioral information critical to effectively prevent HIV infection. A number of reports [PDF] can also be generated.
• California HIV/AIDS Case Registry and HIV/AIDS Reporting System (HARS)
  Confidential, central registry of demographic and clinical information on all reported California HIV and AIDS cases. HARS prepares reports on HIV/AIDS cases. Specific HARS data may be requested by submitting a Request for HIV/AIDS Summary Data [PDF] to the Office of AIDS.
• HIV Counseling Information System (HIV6) (requires account)
  Computer program for recording, processing, invoicing and reporting data about counseling and testing statewide.
• Local Evaluation Online (LEO) (requires account)
  LEO is an online system for tracking information about Office of AIDS (OA)-funded HIV education and prevention programs, including counseling and testing services.
• HIV Partner Counseling and Referral Services (PCRS)
  County and state data on disclosure assistance/partner counseling and referral services. For specific data, contact the PCRS Unit Supervisor.
• Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD)
  Statewide surveillance system to define high-risk populations, assess STD trends, and monitor prevalence of select STDs.
